nerves

I’m in Mumbai.

Tomorrow, I go to Pune to begin the mandatory 5-week-long training called Institute. I’m excited…and nervous.

On the flight over, as the distance between grew between me and home, so did my nervousness. After four years of being constantly surrounded by friends – amongst the best friends I’ll have through life, I’m sure – it feels strange to leave behind everything I know and come back to India. Strange, and lonely. I hope the business of Institute leaves me little time to think about loneliness, and by the time I have a moment to ponder on it, I hope that rather depressing feeling has diminished. Because, to be honest, I’m not good at being alone.

In any case, I’m looking forward to training! While mentally I’ve been making this transition for a few months already, my journey as a TFI fellow officially begins tomorrow.
